Southern Morocco from Marrakech to the Erg Chebbi desert

Pick up at the airport by one of our collaborators and arrival at your riad.
Depending on the time of day, you will have free time to visit the medina independently and discover its beauties.

– 6 hours

Your journey begins by leaving the chaotic Marrakech behind to cross the Atlas Mountains to its highest pass: Tizi N’Tichka at an altitude of 2,260m.
From this height you can enjoy the magnificent landscape that surrounds it with green woods, very high peaks and infinite horizons.
The route is dotted with small and typical Berber villages.
Coming down from the mountains, your second stop will be the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This suggestive city seems to have been born directly from the sand.
Theater of numerous films such as “Gladiator”, “Game of Thrones” and “Lawrence of Arabia”, it is located in the valley of the Ouarzazate river and from its fort you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the rocky desert that opens up at its feet.
The journey then continues to the city of Ouarzazate, the largest Berber city in southern Morocco, as well as nicknamed the “Hollywood” of Africa for its famous studios.
You will spend the night in Dades Gorges with dinner and breakfast included

– 4 hours

The next morning, after breakfast, we leave the red valley of Dades Gorges to visit Todra Canyon. A crack in the saffron-colored rock that opens for hundreds of meters.
You can visit it by car or on foot, taking a walk along the river it passes through.
The journey then continues to the town of Merzouga. The landscape will change constantly, between the red stones of the Gorges mountains, the luxuriant palm groves and the expanse of rocky desert that slowly changes to give way to the gentle hills of sand: the entrance to the Sahara desert.
You will pass through Erfoud (capital of Fossils) and Rissani (famous for its market, the largest in southern Morocco).
Once in Merzouga, leave the car to travel the last stretch with the dromedary.
Enjoy the sunset over the dunes, the starry sky and a good dinner to the sound of Berber music.
Overnight in a deluxe tented camp with dinner and breakfast (private bathroom and hot water).

After breakfast, we will take you to the immense dunes of Erg Chebbi, where you can take lots of photos.
The journey continues to the village of Khamlia, where a population from the deepest Africa lives.
You can attend a tribal music show called Gnawans.
The excursion then continues by visiting the ancient mines of Mifiss from which you will enjoy a beautiful view of the boundless desert and with a visit to a nomadic family of the desert.
Returning to Merzouga you will spend the night at the hotel with dinner and breakfast included.

– 6 hours

After breakfast we leave for the famous Rissani market, the largest in southern Morocco.
Here you will find handicrafts and all kinds of exotic food.
Enjoy the constant change of landscape between palm groves, rivers and free camels grazing in the boundless deserts.
You will pass through the Draa valley dotted with hundreds of ancient kasbahs up to the Hollywood of Africa.
Overnight in Ouarzazate with dinner and breakfast included.

– 5 hours

After breakfast you can visit the cinema studios and the famous Kasbah Taourirt if you like.
You will then return along the Atlas range, stopping at various viewpoints until arriving in Marrakech in the afternoon.
Among the most beautiful things to visit, the ancient Kasbah Telouet.
Enjoy the ever changing landscape between palm groves, rocky deserts and forests along the way!
You will see many Berber villages and several ancient kasbahs along the way.

– 6 hours

The day will be entirely dedicated to visiting the city of Marrakech.
You can visit it freely or accompanied by a guide who will explain all its nuances.
We will make sure that you can visit the Majorelle Gardens, designed by the French artist Majorelle and later restored by Yves Saint Laurent, the Koutoubia mosque, the Saadian tombs and the Bahia Palace.
After lunch, the guide will take you to visit the souk and show you all the specialties you can buy.

Lose yourself in the streets of the medina, among street vendors, prayer songs and snake charmers! You will fall in love with the colors of her, the friendliness of the people and the fiery sunsets from the terraces of the city while sipping an excellent mint tea.
